Krav Maga Survival (KMS) is a modern Krav Maga solution based on existing Krav Maga systems and ongoing evolution with other systems as jiu jitsu, aikido, sambo, judo, boxing and the experience of the founders as well as the masters used as technical advisors of the system and input from students and external seminar holders. Krav Maga Survival is actively using the idea of “Tactical Survival Training”.

Krav Maga Survival is partner of the world famous IBK “Kyokushin Budo Kai” which is an excellent partner for gaining more knowledge and having a network with many instructors of reality based Closed Combat. This way the KMS and IBK are supporting each other on a win/win basis.

The official language in Krav Maga Survival is English, however Japanese terms for techniques are also accepted for seminars and courses.

Krav Maga Survival is at the student level a "stand up" fighting system only.

The solution is based on a“Keep It Simple - Stupid” KISS philisophy and must always be very simple to perform. The aim is to give the student an effective self defense and active combat solution within a very short period of time.

The solution has no intention of being the best or being evaluated by externs as we will continue to evolve and share our knowledge with each other as well as we will keep being currious for new techniques.

Students will be introduced to a set of complete solutions for any situation and instructors as well as masters will be presented with a set of multiple solutions for situations.

The solution is introduced for sharing techniques and knowledge and to learn from other close combat students and masters.

It is NOT the ideal to build a big organisation cashing money from students for building an even bigger organisation and cashing even more money.

We will present seminars with skilled instructors and masters wo base their teachings on equal ideas - We will present any teacher/seminarholder who can give ideas to make the system even better!!

The solution is founded by two masters originally from the Krav Maga Liven International system founded by Israeli Kancho Raffi Liven 10th Dan. The founders are Shihan Tom "Taiyo" Madsen 5th Dan and Shihan Glenn Jordheim 5th Dan. Today the central organ of Krav Maga Survival has no connection to Kancho Raffi Liven - but any club or associate are free to do as they please on this matter.

The solution is highly based on the teachings of Kancho Raffi Liven until the middle of the first decade of the second millinium. Further major inspirations are the Israeli Masters Dr. Dennis Hannover and his Hisardut (Survival) as well as Kancho Gadi Scornik and his Gadi kenpo. We have taken techniques from a handful of Israely masters and from elite units from army and police around the world. Last but Not least we use effective techniques from other masters as Master Gokor Chivichyan, Master Alfred Gehlen, Master Mihran Aghvinian and many, many others.
